There will be rememberances today, and there should.
There will be tears of sadness, tears of dedication, tears of celebration for the undefeatable American Spirit; there must be.
There will be education for those who are too young or weren’t alive that morning, and we cannot survive as a society without heritage–both good and bad.
There will be the undeniable pit in the bottom of so many stomachs each and every time the images flash by on our screens……..and in our minds. The reminder of the lonliness we all felt no matter how many people were surrounding us, the emptiness of a crowded room.
The unrelenting torrents of uncertainty. The feeling in the dark for the cosmic light switch. The punch in the gut of realization that the lights would never truly be as bright. Perception, forever shifted.
I am sitting where I was then. Most everything is different now. But not the American Spirit. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the rebuilding of it all.
