Just a couple of random thoughts late on a busy Saturday night.
–UK baseball has made great strides. The Cats ran up against a team that has been as good as any in the country this year and who has much more experience with big games. There is no shame in losing, and the year has been a rousing success.
–I still can’t believe what happened in the Finals last night. The Cavs were ridiculous. The Warriors scored enough to win most NBA games and got blitzed. I kept thinking a cut-it-to-single-digits run was coming, but then Kyrie or Kevin Love would nail a big shot. Conspiracy theorists notwithstanding, the Cavs were amazing and deserved the win. If they’d eeked out game three, imagine how different the series would feel now.
–Today was tiring and awesome. On a personal note, fresh from the excitement of making KSR’s top 5 summer hosts finals, CoachJHurt and I traveled to Andyville to Stull’s Country Store to record our first remote podcast. Show sponsor Marlinda Stull made me feel like I’d known her for years, and I was taken by the community of people who visited the little place out in the middle of nowhere. It was definitely cool putting some faces with Twitter handles, too. We had a blast, and then returned to Metcalfe County High for Relay for Life where we (the Hornets Nest Pickers) played a show. As I said tiring, but awesome. What a great day.
